HTC is celebrating the second anniversary of its Vive virtual reality headset with the release of the Vive Pro Starter Kit, available to snap up from the official website for a wallet-weeping $1099/£1048.
The Pro Starter Kit includes the Vive Pro HMD, two Vive 1.0 controllers, and two 1.0 base stations. While it’s a hefty wad of cash, it’s only fair to point out that it does save you a lot of dough; buying all the items in the Starter Kit would set you back around £1240, so you’re saving almost 200 quid.
In addition, HTC has also confirmed that the bog standard Vive is getting a price reduction to a more affordable £500 price tag. The Vive Pro, due on April 5, supports a higher resolution and a number of other bits and bobs, such as a revamped headstrap and integrated headphones.
